বিহারের বৈশালী জেলায় গঙ্গায় নৌকাডুবিতে মৃত্যু হল ১৩ শিশুর। মঙ্গলবার রাতে প্রতিবেশী গ্রামে ভোজের অনুষ্ঠানে যাওয়ার পথে এই দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। মৃতদের প্রত্যেকের বয়স ১৫ বছর বা তার কম। সাতজনকে উদ্ধার করে হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছে। নৌকায় আরও কেউ নিখোঁজ রয়েছেন কি না, তা জানতে নদীতে চলেছে তল্লাশি অভিযান।

That is how I survived..,” says Aditya Kumar. “There were around 20 people on the boat. Suddenly, it started capsizing. There was a hole in the boat. I jumped into the water before it entirely capsized. My grandfather saved me. Others with me drowned,” says Abhiraj. “There was a hole in the boat. So, water started seeping in. One man tried to throw out the water but when we reached a little further, the water started coming in faster. Ultimately, the entire boat was filled with water. It then capsized..,” says Ansh.

মঙ্গলবার রাত সাড়ে ৮টার সময় বৈশালীর রাঘোপুর দিয়ারা এলাকায় দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে। আনুমানিক ১৫ থেকে ২০ জন যাত্রীকে নিয়ে নৌকাটি গঙ্গা পার হওয়ার সময় উল্টে যায়। যাত্রীরা রামপুর শ্যামচাঁদ গ্রাম থেকে নদীর ওপারে একটি অনুষ্ঠানে যাচ্ছিলেন বলে খবর।

এই ঘটনায় শোকপ্রকাশ করেছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী। মৃতদের পরিবারের প্রতি সমবেদনা জানিয়ে তিনি প্রধানমন্ত্রীর জাতীয় ত্রাণ তহবিল (পিএমএনআরএফ) থেকে প্রত্যেক মৃতের নিকটাত্মীয়কে ২ লক্ষ টাকা করে আর্থিক সাহায্যের ঘোষণা করেছেন। আহতদের প্রত্যেককে দেওয়া হবে ৫০ হাজার টাকা।

অন্য দিকে, বিহারের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সম্রাট চৌধুরীও মৃতদের পরিবারপিছু ৪ লক্ষ টাকা আর্থিক সাহায্যের ঘোষণা করেছেন। দ্রুত উদ্ধারকাজ শেষ করার পাশাপাশি আহতদের যথাযথ চিকিৎসার ব্যবস্থা করার জন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট আধিকারিকদের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন তিনি। ফলে দুর্ঘটনায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত পরিবারগুলির জন্য পৃথক আর্থিক সাহায্যের ঘোষণা করেছে কেন্দ্র ও রাজ্য সরকার।

আরও উদ্ধারকারী দল পাঠানোর আবেদন তেজস্বী যাদবের
বিহার বিধানসভার বিরোধী দলনেতা তথা রাষ্ট্রীয় জনতা দলের (আরজেডি) নেতা তেজস্বী যাদব দুর্ঘটনায় উদ্ধারকাজ আরও জোরদার করার আবেদন জানিয়েছেন। রাঘোপুর কেন্দ্রের বিধায়ক তেজস্বী জানিয়েছেন, তিনি জেলা শাসক এবং বিপর্যয় মোকাবিলা দপ্তরের উচ্চপদস্থ আধিকারিকদের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছেন। জাতীয় বিপর্যয় মোকাবিলা বাহিনী (এনডিআরএফ) এবং রাজ্য বিপর্যয় মোকাবিলা বাহিনীর (এসডিআরএফ) অতিরিক্ত কর্মী পাঠানোরও অনুরোধ করেছেন তিনি।

পটনায় ফিরে দুর্ঘটনাগ্রস্ত রাঘোপুর এলাকায় গিয়ে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত পরিবারগুলির সঙ্গে দেখা করবেন বলেও জানিয়েছেন তেজস্বী। এ দিকে, কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী তথা হাজিপুরের সাংসদ চিরাগ পাসওয়ান এই ঘটনায় শোকপ্রকাশ করেছেন। মৃতদের পরিবারের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর পাশাপাশি তাঁদের দ্রুত সাহায্য করার আবেদন জানিয়েছেন তিনি। শোকপ্রকাশ করেছেন ভারতীয় জনতা পার্টির (বিজেপি) সর্বভারতীয় সভাপতি নীতিন নবীনও।
