Dainik Statesman is the Bengali-language daily newspaper of The Statesman Group, one of India’s most respected and historic media institutions. Launched in Kolkata on June 28, 2004, Dainik Statesman is currently published from Kolkata and Siliguri, delivering reliable news and insightful analysis to Bengali-speaking readers across West Bengal and other parts of the country.

Dainik Statesman is rooted in a rich journalistic legacy. The Statesman was established in 1875, with its origins tracing back even further to The Friend of India, first published in 1818. The ideals of independent, fearless and responsible journalism that have defined the institution for generations continue to guide Dainik Statesman in its mission and editorial approach.

In the history of Indian journalism, The Statesman is particularly remembered for bringing the realities of the 1943 Bengal Famine to the attention of the world. Its courageous reporting and powerful photographs exposed the human tragedy of the famine and drew international attention to the conditions prevailing under British rule. The newspaper also earned respect for its steadfast commitment to editorial independence and journalistic integrity during the Emergency of 1975. This proud legacy remains one of the greatest strengths of The Statesman Group today.

At present, The Statesman Group publishes news in both English and Bengali. The English-language The Statesman is published from Kolkata, New Delhi, Siliguri and Bhubaneswar. In Bengali, Dainik Statesman provides comprehensive coverage of important developments from West Bengal, India and around the world, along with regular reporting, analysis and special features on politics, economy, education, health, sports, culture, literature, technology and lifestyle.

দৈনিক স্টেটসম্যান ভারতের অন্যতম ঐতিহ্যবাহী সংবাদপত্র গোষ্ঠী The Statesman-এর বাংলা দৈনিক। ২০০৪ সালের ২৮ জুন কলকাতা থেকে এর যাত্রা শুরু হয়। বর্তমানে কলকাতা ও শিলিগুড়ি থেকে প্রকাশিত দৈনিক স্টেটসম্যান পশ্চিমবঙ্গসহ দেশের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের বাংলা ভাষাভাষী পাঠকদের কাছে নির্ভরযোগ্য সংবাদ ও বিশ্লেষণ পৌঁছে দিচ্ছে।
